I don't know about you, but most of the TV shows that I keep up with are Finale-ing this week. Tuesday, I watched hour 23 of "24", jumped to the season finale of "Roswell" when I could, and completely missed the season finale of "Smallville." Wednesday was the two-hour season finale of "Enterprise", which I missed because the campground I was in couldn't spell UPN. It's probably better to wait until the start of next season to see it anyway, then you don't have to "cliff-hang" for several months. Thursday was the almost-final of "Survivor-Marquesas" -- tonite, Sunday, in about 39 minutes is the gigantic 2-hour season finale! Same time as the "X-Files" -- which I'll jump to now and then. Or maybe I'll turn both TVs on so I can see both at the same time ... LOL.

Anyway, that's why I named this chapter "Season Finale" -- it really isn't, but I thought it would be a grabber for those of you who have to see them all.

Yesterday, I went to a great classic car and hotrod show at the Best Western Motel in Townsend, Tennessee. Quite a show! I learned that there are Cruise-ins, where they drive the cars to the show and there are those that the cars are trailered in to (haul-ins?). Seems like the two groups don't think real highly of one another -- I had no idea there was that kind of distinction among the show car showers. At any rate, in this show, everyone (or almost everyone) drove their classic car or hot rod all the way from their home to the show. There were about 50 cars and most were really impressive. Especially, considering they were street vehicles. Some were so low, I was surprised they were able to drive the highways -- must go re-e-eal slow over railroad crossings. So here they are, with a little chatter where appropriate. Enjoy!

As I said in an earlier chapter, probably my favorite all-time car is the 1949 Mercury -- especially if it's channeled, chopped, and customized. This is a 1950, but still a great-looking car and I really probably can't tell a 1949 from a 1950 from a 1951, except by the grille, which in many cases has been changed.

Here we have some nice classic Chevrolets, a red 1955 and a black 1958. To the right is a custom 1955.

Below that are some Fords that are either 1939, 1940, or 1941. I'd guess 1940 on the red and 1939 on the yellow -- nice cars no matter what the year.

Below that a beautiful 1941 Ford. Looks like a 1946 from the rear. I had to ask the owner what year it was. I think he's done some custom work on the back end.

At the bottom, another nice-looking 1950 Mercury, not chopped but lowered to the point that those long chrome pipes were actually touching the grass.

And then ... the finale of the season finale, a car you rarely see customized. It's a 1949 or 1950 Buick, nicely done with flames, long chrome pipes, etc. I didn't ask what engine it had, but I imagine it was a biggie!

Hope you've taken the time to click on some of these -- they're much more impressive in the larger size.

That's all I've got for now. Enjoy the other Season Finales!
