We originally were trying to lease one, but the salesman convinced us we'd be better off buying. I think at the time, we weren't sure how long we'd stay in Santa Barbara, whether we'd be getting back into the RV and continue traveling, or what. Our thought had been to only get a car temporarily until we decided what our future would be. As it turned out, we ended up selling the Allegro and driving this car back to Alabama in 1985. We officially moved back to Alabama on New Year's Eve 1985, so I could do a California state tax form for 1985 and an Alabama form in 1986, but not have to do both in either year.
