1967 Oldsmobile Delmont 88 4-door Hardtop - (1967-1977) Photos taken by Ron Hoffman in Houston in about 1976. I traded the 1966 Pontiac for this car and paid $4800 for it. It had been used for parades, so was whet the dealers referred to as a demonstrator (i.e., therefore was cheaper than a new car). This is the first car that I drove for over 100,000 miles, I gave it to my son, Ronnie, when he graduated from High School in 1977, but then sold it when too many things started going wrong with it. As I recall, the power steering was gone, the transmission needed rebuilding, the rear wheel/axle had come out a couple of times and been pushed back in by Ronnie, and I just considered it a dangerous vehicle so sold it really cheap. As I recall, I sold it for $75 and my neighbor bought it then resold it immediately for $150. doh! I think Ronnie thought I was nuts and, looking back now, I think he might have been right.
